About Mike Doheny
Mike has performed in leading and supporting roles throughout the South Jersey area over the past 30+ years, most recently appearing as Scrooge in A Christmas Carol (Walnut Street Theatre) and Callahan in Legally Blonde (Broadway Theatre of Pitman). Mike is a four-time NJACT Perry Award-nominee, nominated once for Best Actor (Marvin in Falsettos), twice for Best Supporting Actor (Shakespeare in Something Rotten and Pulitzer in Newsies), and once for Music Direction (The Mystery of Edwin Drood ). He has twice won a Pat King Award as Featured Actor (Detective Tupolski in The Pillowman and Governor Slaton in Parade).

Mike was the Choral Director and Drama Music Director at Winslow Township High School in Atco, NJ, formerly Edgewood Regional High School, from 1994 until his retirement in October 2025. He earned his B.M. in Music Education in 1994, and his Master of Music in Choral Conducting in 2011, from Glassboro State College/Rowan University, under the tutelage of Clarence Miller, Dr. Eugene T. Simpson, and Dr. Z. Randall Stroope. Mike is an NJMEA Master Music Teacher and was awarded the 2012 Winslow Township District Teacher of the Year honor. He has twice conducted the Salem County Honors Choir (in 2000 and 2023) and the South Jersey Senior High Chorus (in 2004 and 2012), and has led rehearsals for the New Jersey All State Mixed Chorus, New Jersey All State Treble Chorus, and the NAfME Eastern Division Treble Chorus. He has vocal directed and conducted more than 35 musicals in his career.
Mike has done voiceover work and local TV commercials. He has sung with Lauda! Chamber Singers, Choral Arts of Southern New Jersey, and with back up choirs for Sarah Brightman, Barbra Streisand, Michael Crawford, and Barry Manilow. He currently sings with the Greater South Jersey Chorus, the Village Carolers, and is a Choral Scholar at Christ Episcopal Church in Woodbury, NJ.
